Darryl McMahon has a long history with electric vehicles (EV) in Canada, and an abiding interest in sustainable energy production and use. He built his first on-road electric car in 1978, and has had at least one EV ever since, including motorcycles, boats, cars and tractors. He was a founding member of the Electric Vehicle Association of Canada (EVAC), and is currently a member of Electric Mobility Canada (EMC), the Electric Auto Association (EAA), and the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO). He was a speaker at the international Electric Vehicle Symposium 17 in 2000. His articles on EVs have been printed in multiple publications. His Web site (www.econogics.com) provides a wealth of information on EVs, energy efficiency and conservation, and a range of related subjects.
Most recently he participated in the campaign to legalize electric bicycles in Ontario, and has published his first book, “The Emperor’s New Hydrogen Economy,” now available through Chapters.Indigo.ca as well as Amazon.ca.
