On Wednesday, February 7, 2007, the our riding association will host an evening with author Thomas Homer-Dixon. The fund-raising event will be fairly intimate, featuring a speech from the well-known author, as well as questions and discussion. Light refreshments will be served.

Thomas Homer-Dixon has received a great deal of attention for his most recent book The Upside of Down. The Upside of Down asks how we can build a society capable of withstanding natural and man-made disasters (such as city-leveling fires, pandemic, and climate change). His previous book, The Ingenuity Gap won the 2001 Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction.

Tickets will go on sale in early January.
