Ottawa-Centre Volunteer Night
When: 7:00PM Tuesday March 20th, 2007
Where: Green Party of Canada Head Office
Unit 204, 396 Cooper Street, Ottawa
Contact: Mark Brooks (mark.brooks@mail.mcgill.ca)
What a year it’s been so far! The Green Party recently reached 13% support in the most recent national public opinion polls, our highest level of support to date.
In preparation for the next federal election (which could come at any time!), the Ottawa-Centre riding association will be holding a volunteer session on Tuesday, March 20 at 7pm at the Green Party of Canada head office, unit 204 - 396 Cooper St. in Ottawa.
This is another in an ongoing series of volunteer nights that we are now going to be holding every two weeks to prepare for the election. This one will be a training session for those volunteers who are interested in tabling for the Green Party at events in the community. We are tabling at the Glebe Community Environmental Fair on Saturday, March 24, so if you’re interested in doing a volunteer shift at this event for a couple hours, please let me know - and please be sure to come to the training session next Tuesday!
At the volunteer night on the 20th, we will also be calling individuals in Ottawa-Centre whose Green Party memberships have expired in order to encourage them to sign up again. Please bring a cell phone if you have one you are willing to use!
It is very important that we have some advance idea of numbers to expect so please let me know if you plan on attending. You are not obligated to make any long-term volunteer commitment and you don’t have to be a member to help out.
I also have an important communications/policy related volunteer job that I need help with, so please contact me directly if you’re interested and I will give you the details.
Thank you for your continuing support. Let’s make 2007 a breakthough year for the Green Party. Hope to see you next Tuesday!
