Hey Green Drinkers,

Spring is here! Apart from the rain - doesn’t it feel good to be able
to walk down the street without your shoulders shrugged up to your
ears, and your breath frozen onto the inside of your scarf. It may not
feel like it this morning but we are edging ever closer to that patio
time of year!!!

March was one busy month for everything environment, making up for a
rather slow February - we have loads to talk about. Here’s a quick
summary to wet your palate…

Environmental initiatives are starting chain reactions around the
world - will plastic bag bans be next? As the Northern town of Leaf
Rapids, Manitoba follows San Fransisco’s suit in banning plastic bags.

New Ontario bill proposes charges for large scale water takings and
the “Safeguarding and Sustaining of Ontario’s Water Act” to protect
and conserve the Great Lakes - yay!

IPCC report out this Friday gives us the sobering details on what we
can expect in a future with a rapidly changing climate.

Apple condemned for consigning toxic computers to China. A survey by
Green Peace of 14 major electronics firms rated Apple the worst for
its environmental policies

Freebate? The feds are offering up to $2000 on that new fuel efficient
vehicle you just purchased - better than the baby bonus! Now if only
we could create fuel efficient babies …
