Events in May
Spring has sprung, and local Greens are busy as bees preparing for the next election and getting our message out.
First, there will be a fundraiser with David Chernushenko on Monday May 14th. This is your chance to meet Ottawa-Centre’s star Green candidate and mingle with like-minded Greens from your riding. The event is being held at the East India Company restaurant (be sure to try their navratan!), with the doors opening at 6pm. For more information, see the event listing.
Second, arctic explorer and environmental educator Geoff Green will be giving a talk about arctic climate change at the main branch of the Ottawa Public Library on May 22nd. This issue has many envionmental and cultural implications, and is particularly relevant after the recent discovery that arctic ice is melting three times faster than originally thought. Admission is free. See the event listing for further information.
Finally, there is the usual Green Drinks meetup (which saw quite a few Ottawa-Centre Greens show up last month!), the Ottawa-Centre Annual General Meeting on May 31st, and the Rideau River Cleanup (join the Green Team!).
Spring is a fun time to be Green!
