EDA Update for August

12:34am on Tuesday, August 25, 2009
Hello all! Time for an update on what the Ottawa Centre EDA Executive (the local Green Party Association) has been up to in the last month.  This summer has been busy, but it is not over yet!
Upcoming Events

  • The Pride Parade is coming up fast! The Capital Pride parade takes place on Sunday, August 30 and starts from the Garden of the Provinces at 1pm and ends at City Hall. Confirm via facebook! Read more…
  • Fall Cleanup has been confirmed for Saturday, October 3rd, starting at 10am. As you may know, the Ottawa Centre Greens adopted Central Park on Bank at Clemow last year, and we need to clean it up twice a year. Come help and play in the Fall leaves!

Election Readiness

  • If you are hoping to help out in the next election, why not come out to next month’s strategy sessions with the Ottawa-Centre candidate Jen Hunter?  Look for an email invite soon, or contact us for details!

Annual General Meeting

  • We are tentatively booking October 6, 2009 as our AGM date. Pencil us in!
  • Our constitution is dusty and needs to be updated. If you are a member (or thinking of joining) please consider joining us for this important task!
  • We will also be electing a new executive for the upcoming year.  Joining the EDA Exec is a great way to increase your involvement with the Greens and stay in the loop. Think about it!

Administration

  • There are currently 3 positions open on the executive: Organizing Chair, CFO and Fundraising Chair. If you are interested in filling any of these roles, why not visit our volunteer form?

That’s it for now, hope to hear from you soon!
