Ride For Refugees

1:56pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Joe Foster, a local Green Party member who is also the Human Rights Critic for the Green Party of Canada, is participating in the Ride for Refugees and would like to invite everyone to join him.

Here is Joe in his own words:

I am participating in the Ottawa Ride for Refugees. Your participation would be much appreciated. I am hoping for many contributors with a few dollars rather than a few contributors with many $! Go to the link below:

A big thanks to Richard Briggs who is providing the front-end motive power along with his tandem bike.

I am riding on behalf of Canadian Greens in collaboration with a group of enthusiastic cyclists. We are riding to create greater awareness to prevent causes that lead to the dislocation of communities and, where necessary, quicker response to those that become refugees.

I am therefore hoping to have many donors in order to send a message to our government to make greater efforts in the international arena to prevent the dislocation of communities that too often end up as refugees.

Please help if you can. If near Ottawa, come join our team for the ride or volunteer to make the ride a success.

Let’s see if we can exceed 300 sponsors!
