Food Bank drive and pub night with Frank de Jong

1:00pm on Saturday, December 13, 2008

The leader of the Green Party of Ontario, Frank de Jong, will be in Ottawa Saturday Dec. 13.  He has agreed to participate in two events with local Greens (and anyone else who wants to join us).

1. 1-5:00pm.  Food Bank Drive.  Meet at Sandy Hill Community Centre, 250 Somerset St. E.
This event is organized by Dave Bagler, who is on the Young Greens Council and is running to be a contestant on CBC’s “Next Great Prime Minister” contest.  Join Dave, Frank (arriving around 3:00), Jay Fitzsimmons, and others going door-to-door in Sandy Hill to ask for non-perishable food donations for Ottawa’s Food Bank.  If you arrive late and we’ve already left, call Jay’s cell phone at 613-697-6391 and I’ll let you know where you can catch up with us.  Snacks and beverages will be available at the community centre for volunteers.  Dave asks you to let him know if you intend to come, at davebagler@gmail.com, or 613-728-6921.  More information at www.davebagler.ca/fooddrive.

2. 7:30-9:30pm.  Pub night.  Royal Oak on the Canal, 221 Echo Dr.
Frank is a friendly, outgoing guy.  He loves chatting with folks to find out what you think about policies and issues, as well as your life experiences.  Join Frank and other Greens at the pub for an informal evening discussing politics, policy, and anything else.
