EDA Update for July
Hello again,
The Ottawa Centre EDA executive (that is the executive for the local Green Party of Canada Association) met again tonight to plan out events in the next months. Here are some of the highlights:
Upcoming Events
- Ottawa Centre is officially registered for the Ottawa Pride Parade! The Capital Pride parade takes place on Sunday, August 30 and starts from the Garden of the Provinces at 1pm and ends at City Hall. Contact us if you’d like to walk with us, or come see us at the Info Fair at City Hall anytime from 1pm until 10pm. (More info: http://www.capitalpride.ca/2009/join/)
Election Readiness
- In order to be ready for the next election, we’ve reserved a training session with BC Greens’ ex-leader Adrianne Carr, at the end of August.
- We have ordered some promotional “No Junk Mail Please” stickers to take on our canvassing walks: Look out for them on mail boxes near you!
Annual General Meeting
- We need to hold an AGM before the end of the year, to elect a new executive and make some changes to our dated constitution. Currently we are looking at mid-September, so stay tuned!
Administration
- Sadly, our CFO is stepping down at the end of next month. Thank you Louis-Philippe for all your hard work and you are welcome back anytime!
- Good news though: We have found a new Communications Chair! Forrest recently moved from London, Ontario to Ottawa and has graciously offered to fill this position. Thanks Forrest and welcome to the team!
- There are currently 3 positions open on the executive: Organizing Chair, CFO and Fundraising Chair. If you are interested in filling any of these roles, why not visit our volunteer form?
