Ottawa Centre Federal Greens: 2009 AGM

The Electoral District Association (EDA) for the Green Party of Canada in Ottawa Centre is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 7:30pm at the Clocktower Brew Pub in the Glebe (575 Bank Street at Isabella, google map).

This is a great opportunity to meet Mike Schreiner, future leader of the Green Party of Ontario, and to learn about the EDA’s activities in the past year. We will also hold two important votes: one to elect the EDA Executive for 2009-2010, and the other to amend the EDA constitution to harmonize it with that of other EDAs. We need a good turn out in order to be able to discuss and vote on these proposals, so please come out to the meeting!

In order to vote at the AGM you must be a member in good standing of the Green Party of Canada, residing within the boundaries of the riding of Ottawa-Centre.

There will be a check-in table at the AGM, and we will verify your membership. Lapsed members will not be able to vote at the AGM, but will be able to renew their memberships. But why wait when you can renew online right now? And to give the Greens a boost leading up to the next election, please encourage your family and friends to join as well.

Constitutional Changes

The current constitution of the Ottawa Centre EDA (PDF) needs to be updated in order align with the naming convention for EDAs that is now required and to allow for members to choose to be notified about meetings by email (as opposed to by mail as is currently required).  Here are the two motions that will be voted on:

Motion 1: Move that the Constitution of the Ottawa Centre Green Party of Canada Riding Association be changed to the following: Click here to view the proposed new constitution
